I have been re-reading Chomsky, and I must say I really like him. I don't know if there is a better example of a modern day prophet. Because what does a prophet do? Stands for truth (what is actually true rather than the white-washed version that kings and presidents tend to promote), and calls us to repentance for our sins. In very unreligious language, this is exactly what Chomsky does.
